Eligibility
Participants must meet the following requirements:
  • Summit County resident between ages of 16 and 18 as of June 1st, 2026.
  • Household income must not exceed 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
  • Must be available to participate from early June through late July.
  • Only one (1) application should be submitted per household.
Required documents
Completed application. Other documents will be requested as needed.
Hours
Program runs June through July. Hours of employment will vary up to 20 hours of paid work per week.

Application process
  • Must register online at https://youthsuccesssummit.org/summer-youth-employment-program beginning Wednesday April 1st, 2026. Parent/guardian must apply on behalf of minor children.
  • Once registered online, individuals will be given instructions on how to continue the process of eligibility determination and placement in the program.
  • Funding and employment opportunities are limited. Not all who register are guaranteed a job. Placement will be completed of a first-come, first-served basis and will be determined by age, worksite, and funding.
  • Application will close by Monday June 1st, 2026 or when all slots are filled, whichever comes first.

Provides an 8-week long program which seeks to provide young adults with job readiness education and an opportunity to earn an occupational skills credential. Note: this is a partnership with Summit County Department of Job and Family Services and Jobs for Ohio's Graduates.
