Adult Protective Intervention/Investigation | Marion County Department Of Job And Family Services

Investigates reports of abuse, neglect and exploitation of vulnerable older adults aged 60 and over in Marion County. Allegations of neglect also include self-neglect by an elderly person. When calls are received by APS, the case manager evaluates any risk to the safety and well-being of alleged victims. If they find that there is a risk, the case manager works with families, social service agencies and other community resources to meet the person’s needs and to improve the situation.

To report concerns regarding the abuse, neglect, or exploitation of a person aged 60 years or older, please call 740-223-1919 weekdays between 8am-4:30pm. For serious APS related concerns after business hours, call the Marion County Sheriff at (740-382-8244 and they will notify the on-call APS case manager. For life-threatening emergencies, call 911.
