PREVENTION, RETENTION AND CONTINGENCY (PRC) | FRANKLIN COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF JOB AND FAMILY SERVICES

PRC provides one-time financial assistance (in a 12 month period) to aid with emergency situations. Program is not meant to serve as an ongoing source of income. Maximum assistance allowed is $2500 for overdue rent or mortgage payments, security deposits, temporary housing, property taxes, home repairs (if the owner;) overdue utility bills (except during Winter Crisis), driver license reinstatement fees, transportation and auto repairs. Applicants can request aid for more than one emergency (up to maximum assistance limit).

Eligibility

Must have at least one minor child or a pregnant woman in (3rd trimester-six months pregnant) in the household. Gross monthly income at or below 175% of FPL for family size. PRC Plus offers one-time assistance payments for Franklin County families with minor children or pregnant woman at or below 300% of the federal poverty level (FPL) if the need is COVID related; 175% FPL for family size if the need is NOT COVID related. Franklin County may be able to cover the past due rent up to $2,500. If the need is COVID related families may also be eligible for one additional month of rent up to $1,500. Must have demonstrable financial emergency. Applicant must show they can continue to support themselves after receiving assistance. Applicant must have an income which can be through employment, TANF, Social Security, unemployment or disability. Must submit two attempts to access other community resources for all requests.
