Accepts and investigates MyCare Ohio complaints for Ohioans covered by both Medicare and Medicaid through this program. Services include:
  • Provide Ombudsman Core Services (information, advocacy, and complaint investigation) for dual-eligible members of MyCare Ohio and the community-well.
  • Provide information regarding rights and benefits to members, families, and providers within the MyCare Ohio service delivery system.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints regarding MyCare Ohio enrollees and other LTC consumers receiving care from Managed Care Organizations.
  • Assist and represent MyCare members and families in administrative hearings and appeal situations in accordance with Ombudsman policy.

Plans, funds, and coordinates services for older persons and persons with disabilities in Portage, Stark, Summit, and Wayne counties to live with dignity and choices in their homes and communities for as long as possible. Administers PASSPORT, MyCare Ohio, The Assisted Living Waiver, The Ohio Home Care Waiver, Care Coordination, Elder Rights, Family Caregiver Support Program, Nursing Home Placement Assistance Program, and other services designed to help older adults and individuals with functional limitations maintain independence. Provides funds for services administered by other community agencies including client finding, specialized information and referral, transportation, home-delivered meals, medical treatment, personal care, respite care, safety monitoring, health assessments, congregate meals, recreational activities, and adult day care.
