Family Supports Program - Respite Care | Cuyahoga County Board Of Developmental Disabilities

Open to families living in Cuyahoga County who have a family member with a developmental disability living with them. Onset of developmental disability must have been before the age of 22 and person must be eligible for Board of DD services.
Documents will be required by agency intake, but none specifically for Respite Care.
Administrative office hours are M-F: 8:00am-4:30pm. Service can be provided 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week. Regular clients receive an emergency number for use evenings and weekends.

Client and family will first go through eligibility procedure for County DD services. This is arranged by calling the Eligibility Line M-F: 8:00am-4:30pm. After client has been deemed eligible, a separate application can be made for Respite Care.

Sliding scale from zero, based on taxable income from IRS1040. The majority of clients do not pay anything.

Description

Offers in- and out-of-home respite care for individuals who are developmentally disabled. Care can be for a matter of hours or days. Limits on the number of times service is provided will vary with the case. If families choose a relative or friend to provide care, this caregiver will be paid by the agency.
