Mount Vernon Municipal Court
This court has jurisdiction over all traffic and criminal misdemeanors that occur in Knox County, Ohio. The Court also handles preliminary matters in felony cases and has jurisdiction over civil cases involving claims of up to $15,000.00. In addition, the Mount Vernon Municipal Court has a Small Claims Division. Small Claims Court hears disputes for money damages ONLY, in amounts not to exceed $6,000.
