MARRIAGE LICENSE | RICHLAND COUNTY PROBATE COURT

Provides an application for a marriage license. If either party has been married previously they must provide a certified copy of Decree of Divorce or Dissolution for the most recent divorce. In the event that the marriage terminated due to death of spouse, then a certified copy of the death certificate is required. Process takes about 15 minutes to complete. Marriage license will be issued at that time (no waiting period). The parties can get married that day, or they have up to 60 days to get married before the license expires. Can also apply online at https://www.richlandcountyoh.gov/departments/probatecourt/MarriageLicense. Applicant will receive tracking number within 24 hours, bring that tracking number for reference. Please remember to bring all required credentials.

Application process

Both applicants must come in together and provide a photo ID such as a driver's license or a State ID card. Each applicant must provide their Social Security card. If applicant does not have Social Security card, the ONLY other option is tax document or W2 that shows the entire number.

Fee

$60 cash only.

Eligibility

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older. One or both parties must be a resident of Richland County or out-of-state residents, who will be married in Richland County. Must be getting married within 60 days.
