Offers disaster assistance for victims of disasters, such as fire or flood, who have no other resources. Assists with immediate basic needs, generally during the first two weeks following a disaster. Assists in temporary financial assistance for food, clothing and other needs, clean-up supplies and crisis counseling. Does not provide help for secondary related problems such as flooding from sewer backup and does not provide food replacement or other assistance due to power outages not connected with a disaster. The type and amount of assistance provided are determined on a case-by-case basis.
