Eligibility

- Must be a Columbia Gas customer. - Must need assistance to stop a disconnection, reconnect services, or pay a past due balance. - Must have a gross income at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. - Will not serve energy diversion customers (those suspected tampering with gas meters). - Individual whose name is on the bill must apply (and must reside at the residence). NOTE: Other household members may not apply. - May only receive service once every 12 months.

- Photo ID. - Disconnect notice/gas bill. - Social Security card. - Any other necessary documents will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Description

Provides emergency gas bill payment assistance for those who qualify. Assistance is limited to $450 and will assist with the heating bill and reconnection fees. However, if fee to reconnect is more than $450, client will have to provide the balance of the payment before assistance will be given. Cannot be applied toward security deposits or bills that are not required to maintain service.
