The mission of the Springfield Museum of Art is to collect, preserve, and exhibit works of art that inspire and educate. Through art exhibitions and art education, the Museum seeks to engage the entire community in the enjoyment and appreciation of the visual arts. The Springfield Museum of Art is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and is the only Smithsonian Affiliated art museum in Ohio. The Museum exhibits art work from its permanent collection and changing exhibits of national and regional artists. *Classes for adults and children include: art exploration, drawing, painting, stained glass, and fiber arts. *An art library is available to the public for research in all facets of art. *The Chakers Interactive Art Lab offers visitors of all ages hands-on opportunities to explore and make art. *Education field trips, workshops and professional programs for teachers. *Internships available.
