Eligibility

Must meet one (1) of the following eligibility requirements: - Homeowners age 65 and over; - Homeowners, under the age of 65, who are permanently and totally disabled; - Military Veterans who have either received a total (100%) disability rating for service-connected disabilities, or received a total (100%) disability rating for compensation for service-connected disabilities based on a determination of individual unemployability; - Homeowners already receiving the Homestead Exemption, who have recently changed residences in the State of Ohio; - Spouse of a fallen first responder who passed away in the line of duty. Additional Eligibility Requirements: - Must meet income eligibility. Visit website to determine the income limits for the application year. Income requirement does not apply to eligible military Veterans.

Description

Offers a tax reduction program which provides Summit County homeowners with relief on a portion of their home value. With homestead, eligible homeowners receive an exemption on a portion of appraised value from taxation for a single family home. Eligible military Veterans receive an additional exemption.
