FISHING AT TJ EVANS FAMILY PARK | CITY OF NEWARK DIVISION OF PUBLIC SERVICE

City of Newark fishing permit allows 24 hour access to the park. More than 100 acres of ponds, stocked with a variety of fish. City sponsors two major fishing tournament - Trout Derby in May and Catfish Derby in August. No State permit is required to fish at this park. Fees from city permits help to offset the cost of restocking the ponds. Permits are available from the Parks Office at 40 West Main Street., Room 400.

$10 (adults 18 years and older); $3 (youth 6 to 17 years.); $6.50 (seniors). Fees change annually, please call ahead for current rates.

Eligibility

Adults required to purchase yearly City of Newark fishing permit. Youth required to have a night permit to be in the park after dark.

Office is responsible for budgeting, personnel, purchasing, interception of citizen complaints for the department, and management of right of way and utilities such as Water, Sewer and Storm. In addition it is responsible for the maintenance of municipal buildings. The office produces new ordinances as needed to address situations that arise from City growth in addition to routine service contracts, equipment leases, etc.
