Veterans Justice Outreach Project | United States Department Of Veterans Affairs

Provides advocacy and case management for veterans who are involved with the criminal justice system. Goal is to advocate for treatment in lieu of incarceration by linking the client to available Veterans Affairs resources such as mental health and substance abuse services. Will see that the client is assessed for any mental health or substance abuse issues, will link the client to any services that exist for the client's needs, and will report this information back to the court. Does not provide legal counsel.
