* Must be a resident of Holmes County for a period of no less than three months * Must be a veteran, veteran's widow/widower, veteran's dependent children under the age of 18, or 23 if still attending school (if both veteran and spouse are deceased). * Complete standard application and provide all documentation requested
* All bills for payment consideration must be in Veteran's name (if Veteran is deceased, bill can be in applicant's name) * DD214 * Proof of Holmes County residency for past 90 days * Past 30 days bank statement that reflects current balance * 30 days pay stubs, wages, interest, IRAs, or all other sources of income, including: Veterans Affairs benefits, Social Security or SSI, rent income, spousal or child support, assistance from other agencies, unemployment, worker's compensation, or sick leave pay

Provides short term, temporary assistance in obtaining basic needs. Needs include, but are not limited to, the following: * Food - may be provided 6 times in a 12 month period * Shelter * Utilities * Clothing * Specific medical needs No applicant will be approved for assistance more than 4 times in a 12 month period, with at least 30 days between assistance requests.
