Adult Services | Geauga County Board Of Developmental Disabilities
Facilitates (but does not run) a wide range of programs for adults with developmental disabilities. Each consumer is guided by an individual service plan which is reviewed at least once per year. Supportive services such as communication skills training, psychological services, social work, home training services, and physical therapy assessments are provided along with vocational programs which include work evaluation, basic daily skills development, basic and standard work activities, on-the-job training, supported employment, and job placement. Consumers choose a partner agency and earn wages for their work. A social and recreational program for older adults is also available.

Application process
Phone to apply during hours of service. After taking basic information, a Support Administrator will obtain documentation and establish eligibility for Board services.
Fee
Free. Consumers are paid for their work in supportive employment and community employment settings.
Eligibility
Residents of Geauga County with developmental disabilities. Onset of developmental disabilities must have been prior to age 22. Prospective consumers will be tested using the Ohio Eligibility Determination Instrument.

Serves children and adults with developmental disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and traumatic brain injuries. Offers coordinated activities and programs including children's services (focusing on early intervention and community inclusion). Assist in finding comprehensive adult services (including vocational training, community employment, workshop opportunities and senior programming). Residential services offer intensive, on-site housing as well as community supported-living homes.
