*Applicants must be at or below 125% of the federal poverty level. *Applicants are also ineligible if providing assistance would create a conflict of interest. Client may be eligible for representation in the following cases: *Need a bankruptcy to stop wage garnishment, driver’s license suspension, or a loss of housing *Were misled about car or home repairs *Are being sued to collect a debt and face possible wage garnishment or other loss of property *Are being harassed by debt collectors using unlawful debt collection activities *Information on credit report is wrong *The IRS sent a letter telling client that their tax return is being audited or examined  *The IRS sent a notice or letter that there is a “deficiency” in your taxes  *The IRS sent you a letter saying they filed a lien on your property or intend to levy or garnish your wages for past due taxes  *The IRS sent you a bill for taxes from a joint return for which you feel it is unfair to hold you responsible  *The IRS sent you a letter about your Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC or EIC), Child Tax Credit or Recovery Rebate Credit  *Owe a tax debt that you are not able to pay or don’t agree that you owe  *Need to make changes to a return that has already been filed with and processed by the IRS  *Have not received the correct amount of refund from tax returns you filed  *Think someone stole your identity and is using it to file tax returns

Provides legal representation at no charge in CIVIL MATTERS for residents of Southeast and Central Ohio who have low household incomes, or who are age 60 or older. The organization is the result of a merge between Southeastern Ohio Legal Services and The Legal Aid Society of Columbus.
