Must be qualified under Category I or III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and found unable to ride traditional trans. A functional assessment may be required to determine eligibility. Must be a Cuyahoga County resident.
Must have a dark green ADA ID card or a blue non-disabled senior pass with the appropriate date stamp. To receive an ADA card, must complete an application which includes information from a physician or other appropriate party. For a non-disabled senior card, must show proof of age.
Paratransit trips are available 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, but there are exceptions and restrictions. Bus Passes and applications are available M-F: 7:00am-6:00pm. General information office closes after 5:00pm.

Applications are available online or can phone M-F: 8:00am-4:30pm and an application can be mailed. Applications must be notarized and returned via mail. Application takes 15-20 days to process, and an in-person functional assessment may be necessary in some cases. Now offering mobile ticketing through the RTA app - allows customers to set up a secure account to purchase, save and use tickets for bus and rail trips right from their smartphone. To schedule Paratransit trips after the appropriate disability pass is acquired, phone the scheduling line 7 days a week from 8:00am-4:00pm or use the web site to book, change or view your trips. Reservations can be made up to one week in advance and must be made at least one day in advance. Rides are scheduled on a first come, first served basis and rides are not guaranteed. Priority will be given to people with disabilities before non-disabled seniors. If the ride does not arrive at the end of the scheduled window of time the person can call the Paratransit dispatcher. The purpose of the trip is not a factor in scheduling. For commendations, complaints or suggestions, call the Answerline.

Fixed fee each way. Personal care attendants (as defined by ADA) who accompany a Paratransit customer ride free, but must be registered with the RTA.

Description

Offers door-to-door service for qualified non-disabled seniors and people with disabilities. Disabled passengers can be taken up to five miles each way from home. To go beyond that, passengers must live within three-quarters of a mile of a scheduled route and be traveling to a destination within three-quarters of a mile of a scheduled route. Non-disabled seniors can only travel within a five-mile radius of their homes. Drivers may help passengers to and from their doors and carry up to four packages. Provides free rides to the polls on election day.
