Geauga County residents age 21 and over. Must pass a background check. Prospective applicants must be in good physical and mental health, have a stable home with room for an additional child or sibling group, must be able to provide a nurturing family environment. In the case of a foster child, must be able to support family reunification or help the child move toward permanence through adoption. Must complete pre-service training and have an approved family assessment.
Must complete application for desired program and all related paperwork. Some of the paperwork needed for completion includes medical statements, fire inspection of home, financial forms, well water test, an autobiography, and personal references.

Those who go on to adopt receive pre-custody services, subsidized services, legalization and post-legalization services. Provides monthly board rate plus medical expenses for the child in foster care.
