Service To The Armed Forces (saf) | American Red Cross - Miami Valley Chapter
Contacts deployed military personnel on behalf of families experiencing an event which requires an urgent communication such as a death, illness, or birth of a child. Offers emergency leave verification and basic information and referral. Provides access to emergency funds available through the various military aid societies (Army Emergency Relief, Navy Marine Corps Relief Society, Air Force Aid Society, and the Coast Guard Mutual Assistance). The funds can be used for a variety of purposes such as medical care, car repair, emergency travel and utility bill payment assistance. Assistance may come in the form of an interest free loan, a direct grant, or some combination of the two.

Eligibility
Active and retired military personnel from any branch of the military and their families residing anywhere. Retired persons must be receiving retirement benefits from the military branch that they served under. Reservists must be on federally-declared active duty.
