HELP ME GROW HOME VISITING | WASHINGTON COUNTY FAMILY AND CHILDREN FIRST COUNCIL
Help Me Grow Home Visiting is Ohio's program for expectant parents, newborns, infants and toddlers. The program provides health and developmental services so that children start school healthy and ready to learn. Help Me Grow works with parents to support young children's development. Home Visitors provide on-going home visits in the home; focus on improving prenatal health habits and infant care giving skills; provide information on child's health, growth, education and development through the Parents As Teachers program; provide screenings for health, hearing, vision and development; connect families with community resources and services. Affiliated with the evidence-based home visiting model Parents As Teachers. Services include provided by the Washington County commissioners: - Developmental Screening - Information on parenting tips - Assistance in developing and reaching family goals - Home Visits to help each child stay "on the road" to healthy growth and development - Service Coordination - professional nurses, teachers, or other qualified staff who share their knowledge about available resources, assist families in connecting with needed services, coordinate services to help families meet their needs and goals. Help Me Grow is - Family-friendly and family centered - Supportive and respectful of each family's needs and preferences - Individualized to meet the needs of each child and family.

Eligibility
Serves prenatal moms and infants and toddlers up to age five. Must enter the program before child is 3 years of age; family must be below 200% of federal poverty level.
