Eligibility

Residents age 14 and older, who are parents of children from birth to 2 year. Court-referred individuals are accepted, including parents who have lost custody of their children. Progress reports are not provided. Participants are expected to become ongoing clients and to attend weekly appointments with an agency volunteer.

Office hours - M, W, Th: 9:00am-4:00pm. Multi-session class. Series is 8 weeks total. Classes are offered on site and online year-round.

Description

Provides a parenting education series that covers a full range of parenting issues from birth to pre-school aged children, including discipline, setting boundaries, education topics, anger management, abuse, and neglect. Classes are supervised by a licensed social worker or registered nurse. Classes are ongoing. Individuals may join the class at any point in the series, but if they want credit for the full series, must continue for the entire period.

Helps pregnant and parenting women and families by providing emotional and spiritual support, and practical assistance. Services include peer counseling, life skills classes, childbirth preparation, material assistance with program participation, and post-abortion and post-miscarriage counseling.
