- Serves Carroll County households with at least one child under the age of 18 (or through 19 if the child is still in high school), pregnant women (from conception to delivery), and (in certain cases) the non-custodial father or mother. - Family must have income which is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. - At least one member of the family must be a United States citizen or qualified alien. - Applicant must be employed and working at least 20 hours per week.
Will be requested as needed and include: - Previous 30 days of earned and unearned (SSI, Child Support, and so forth) income for all adults in household. - Valid Driver's license. - Employer verification of working at least 20 hours per week and hourly rate by either pay stubs, or in writing. - Proof of auto insurance. - Title of all vehicles in household, if applicable. - Notarized License Affidavit (can be obtained at front desk). - If client does not have these documents, they should call to see if other options are available.

Description

Provides assistance with car repairs, reinstatement of driver's license fees, license plate fees, car insurance, driver's education. Can pay car payments if behind in payments. Provides new or used vehicle down payment match. Maximum amount of assistance is up to $1,500 in a 12 month period (which counts against an overall $1,500 cap on all PRC services in a 12 month period).
