Serves low- to moderate-income households in Summit County.
- Photo ID for the tax filer (and spouse, if filing jointly). - Social Security Card, official correspondence from Social Security Administration that includes Social Security Number, or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) letter for all people listed on the return. - Birth dates for all people listed on the return. - Current year’s tax package (if available). - Wage and earning Statement (s) Form W-2, W-2G, 1099-R, 1099-Misc from all employers. - Form SSA-1099 showing Social Security benefits received (if applicable). - Interest and dividend statements from banks (Forms 1099-INT and 1099-DIV). - Reports from brokers concerning capital gains, dividends, and/or interest. - All receipts or canceled checks for medical/dental expenses, contributions, and similar records if itemizing deductions. Households may be able to deduct medical expenses on the state return even if not able to deduct them on the federal return. - Documentation of total paid for child care, and child care provider's Social Security or Employer ID Number (if applicable). - If divorced, the divorce decree parent custody guide. If required, Form 8332. - Documentation of educational expenses (such as the 1098-T Tuition Statement). - Information about charity contributions (if the household has enough expenses to qualify for itemizing deductions on the federal return). - Information about state and local taxes paid (if the household has enough expenses to qualify for itemizing deductions on the federal return). - A copy of last year’s Federal and State returns. - Bank Routing Numbers and Account Numbers for Direct Deposit (if applicant desires direct deposit). A voided check is acceptable. - Any other materials or records tax filers feel are pertinent to their taxes.
By appointment only: - Maple Valley Branch Library: Wednesdays from from Wednesday February 4th through Wednesday April 8th, 2026. - Northwest Akron Branch Library: Fridays from Friday February 6th through Friday April 10th, 2026. - Kenmore Branch Library: Saturdays from Saturday February 7th through Saturday April 11th, 2026.

Appointments are first come, first serve and generally fill up quickly, sometimes within the 1st week. Someone unable to schedule can call back in the following weeks as there may be openings due to cancellations.
