Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) combines behavioral therapy and counseling, case management and FDA-approved medications including Suboxone, Vivitrol, Sublocade etc. to treat substance use disorders. MAT utilizes a multitude of different medication options that can be tailored to fit the unique needs of the individual. MAT is most commonly used to treat alcohol and opioid use disorders. It reduces cravings, prevents withdrawal and helps normalize brain function.
