Application process
- Call the Ohio Benefits line or visit the website at https://Benefits.ohio.gov for more information, to apply for benefits or update information. - Must submit a completed, signed and dated application. - Must verify annually.

Eligibility
Serves Summit County families with a household income under 90% of the Federal Poverty Level. In a household with one adult, the adult is required to work or be involved in specifically defined work activities at least 30 hours per week. In a household with two adults, those adults must meet a 35 hour per week requirement. Cash assistance is time limited to 3 years. After a 2-year waiting period, families in need of additional assistance may reapply for another 2 years. Cash benefits are capped at 5-year lifetime limit. Persons not eligible include an individual who: - Does not sign the self-sufficiency contract. - Does not comply with the terms of the contract. - Terminates employment without just cause while receiving transitional Medicaid or child care benefits. - Has income that exceeds the amount for the assistance group size. - Has received benefits fraudulently. - Receives Supplemental Security Income. - Receives adoption assistance payments or federal, state or local foster care maintenance payments. - Is a fugitive felon. - Is a probation/parole violator. - Has been convicted for fraudulent misstatement of residence in order to receive benefits. Changes in household composition and unreported income could all result in changes to benefit amount. Recipients are responsible for reporting these or any other changes within 10 days of occurrence. Receiving more than a household is entitled to could result in overpayment penalties or charges of fraud.
