Description

Provides assistance connecting to supportive programs during pregnancy. Service includes an 11-question assessment of needs and referral to prenatal programs that fit the individual as well as referrals to community services that participants may need. Those who participate may receive incentives.

Conducts a wide range of health-related education, regulation, and support services within its jurisdiction. Includes Environmental Health Division (food protection, risk assessments, septic system and well safety, solid waste disposal), Prevention and Wellness Division(nutrition services, wellness programs, dental care referrals), immunizations, lead poisoning prevention and detection, communicable disease prevention and control, child care education, school health, etc.), and Epidemiology/Surveillance Division. Acts as liaison with Early Start and Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps.
