Serves residents who meet financial eligibility criteria (household income below 125% of current federal poverty guidelines with limited assets). Will evaluate applicants with gross income up to 200% of current federal poverty guidelines and older adults (age 60+) when determining financial eligibility for service. Applicant's problem must also meet case acceptance guidelines .
None required to apply for assistance but all papers related to legal problem will be needed.

May apply for services online, where applicants can schedule a call back to speak with an intake specialist. Click on "Apply for Free Legal Help" on the organization's web site to start the application process. May also call to speak with an intake specialist. In-person intake interviews may be available when necessary to ensure access to organization's services based on individual circumstances. Those who walk into the building M-F: 9:00am-5:00pm can fill out a card to request a call back from an intake specialist.

Evaluates education cases related to disability access and special education (including evaluations, behavior plans and modifications or failure to follow Individual Education Plans {IEP's}); school enrollment issues (including homelessness and school fees/records/other barriers); language access (bilingual services for child and parent/guardian) school discipline, including expulsion hearings and appeals and manifestation determination reviews (MDR's); post-secondary education for individuals with a disability that cannot access education; lawsuit filed by the school against the applicant to collect education expenses.
