PCA | OPPORTUNITIES FOR OHIOANS WITH DISABILITIES
Provides financial resources for personal assistance services to Ohioans with severe physical disabilities. Personal assistance services help people with severe physical disabilities perform activities of daily living. Such activities may include dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting, preparing food, feeding, giving medications, turning, repositioning, transferring and assisting with ambulation.

Eligibility
Ohio residents 18 and over who are severely physically disabled. Individuals do not need to be involved in the Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) program in order to be eligible for the PCA program. Must need no fewer than 8 consecutive weeks of PCA and no more than 455 hours per quarter. Income must be below 600% of the Federal Poverty Level. Individuals must be capable of instructing and supervising a personal care assistant and must be able to live independently with the assistance of a personal care assistant.

OOD’s Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation (BVR), Bureau of Services for the Visually Impaired (BSVI), Division of Employer & Innovation Services (EIS), and Division of Disability Determination (DDD) partner with nonprofits, schools, businesses, and other public and community organizations to: Help individuals with disabilities find and keep jobs Prepare students with disabilities for the world of work and the next steps after graduation Support college students with disabilities in completing their degrees or credentials and planning careers that meet the demands of today's labor market Help students and adults with disabilities gain valuable work experience and access to state government employment through paid apprenticeships Provide supported employment services for working-age adults with developmental disabilities Assist Business Enterprise operators who are legally blind in their entrepreneurial careers in vending services Provide employment support for individuals in recovery who are served through certified specialized dockets Process applications made to the federal Social Security Administration (SSA) for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
