Description
Diverts offenders with mental illness from the justice system using intensive programming and treatment. The objectives of the programs are to reduce the amount of time these individuals spend in jail and/or lockups on the current charge and to ensure that they are linked with an appropriate array of community-based treatment and support services. Misdemeanor charges will remain on the participant's permanent record. Participating agencies are Stow Municipal Court, Community Support Services, Portage Path Behavioral Health, and Summit County ADM Board.

The court has jurisdiction over misdemeanor and traffic offenses committed within its geographical boundaries and civil cases in which the amount does not exceed $15,000. Serves 16 communities including Boston Heights, Boston Township, Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson, Macedonia, Munroe Falls, Northfield Center, Northfield Village, Peninsula, Reminderville, Sagamore Hills, Silver Lake, Stow, Tallmadge, Twinsburg, and Twinsburg Township.
