COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT | MUSKINGUM COUNTY OFFICE OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

Provides coordination and support in the time of need during a disaster incident, or situation and to see that all available support and resources are secured for the safety and welfare of the communities and citizens of Muskingum County. Also supports the needs of emergency service departments and personnel to the extent of training, education, material items, and financial support when appropriate. We work to develope emergency plans and help other agencies with developing their plans. We conduct exercises on a regular basis to test the plans we have developed. The agency communicates with all local, state, and federal agencies that may be utilized in the scope of duties performed by this agency when logistics and financial services are required for our county in a disaster or large-scale incident situation.

The purpose of the Muskingum County Emergency Management Agency is to provide coordination and integration of all activities necessary to build, sustain, and improve the county’s capability to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from, or mitigate against, threatened or actual natural disasters, acts of terrorism, or other manmade disasters.
