FIRE - PREVENTION/PROTECTION | CLEVELAND HEIGHTS CITY OF - DIVISION OF FIRE

Provides fire prevention / firefighting services. Provides Emergency Medical Services (EMS) services with trained paramedics. Also offers periodic CPR classes, emergency preparedness, annual hydrant inspections, and unannounced yearly inspections of structures to ensure compliance with fire codes. Provides smoke detectors. Provides speakers about fire safety for public education programs. Children are also educated about fire safety issues through the use of a mobile fire safety house.

Application process

For non-emergencies phone M-F: 8:30am-5:00pm using the non-emergency number. Hydrants are flushed in April and May. Those experiencing rust due to sediment released from hydrant flushing may request rust remover by calling M-F: 8:30am-5:00pm during April and May. To receive smoke detectors and batteries, walk-in to Chief's Office for service M-F: 8:30am-5:00pm, and fill out an application. Classes may require pre-registration.

Fee

Mostly free, including smoke detector and batteries; may be fees for EMS transport and CPR classes.

Eligibility

Serves the community of Cleveland Heights. CPR classes are available to Cleveland Heights residents ages 13 and older.
