Employment - Developmental Disabilities | Vocational Guidance Services
Provides adult activity-based and/or vocational rehabilitation (pre-employment training) services to help the client become as independent as possible and to prepare the client to become part of the workforce. Agency is not taking new clients - in 2020, this service will be provided by other nonprofit agencies.

Application process
Call for information and intake. Program may be full at times, and callers can be added to a waiting list. They will take basic information and assign a Support Administrator who will obtain documentation and establish eligibility for Board services. After eligibility is established, services can commence at any time. Visits can be made to adult training centers before entering the program.
Fee
Free to clients. Clients are paid for their work in sheltered workshops.
Eligibility
Serves residents of Cuyahoga County aged 18 and older with moderate, severe, or profound developmental disabilities. Applicants must be deemed eligible for board services. Onset of mental retardation must have been prior to age 18, and of other developmental disability prior to age 22. Prospective client will be tested using the Ohio Eligibility Determination Instrument.
