Provides self-help groups, led by trained lay persons who have been participants, which teach techniques for mental health developed by a neuropsychiatry and provide support for those with any degree of mental/emotional disturbance, from very mild to serious. Also offers support groups by phone, including groups in Spanish, for those with visual impairments, and those who are new to the group.

Application process

Call 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week or access web site to request brochure and meeting list. Then walk in for service. For phone groups, call to find dates, times, and phone numbers for meetings. Visit website for online and chat meetings.

Fee

Free (voluntary contributions accepted). There is a charge for some literature. Participation in the telephone groups is free, but the phone number to access the groups is a long-distance number and long-distance fees are charged according to the client's telephone long-distance rate plan.

Eligibility

Open to those age 18 or older who have mental/emotional disturbances, including but not limited to stress & tension, anxiety or panic, depression or fatigue, sleep problems or worry, anger or fear, and helpless-hopeless feelings. Families, friends, and health professionals can also attend meetings.
