Resident must pay fee for room and board, up to a minimum amount that changes yearly. If monthly income is higher than required minimum for room and board, individual will be required to pay additional fees to the facility for services. Medicaid pays the facility any remaining costs for care, and allows a small amount to the resident for personal cash expenses.

Provides funds to cover the cost of care in an assisted living center for those who meet eligibility and require a residential setting but not the services of a nursing home. Does not cover medication, co-pays, or services such as a visiting nurse. Assisted living facilities must have agreed to accept this reimbursement, and must be certified by this agency. Participants pay standard room and board costs.
