Eligibility

* Child is 6 months old or older * Resident of Richland County * Registered with the WIC program or Medicaid * All seats must be installed in your vehicle and the child(ren) getting the seat must be present. Any Richland County resident with a need to have their car seat inspected, call 419-774-4726 for an appointment.

Application process

For a free child car seat parents must call and give: name, address, phone, child's name, and date of birth or due date. Names are placed on waiting list, phone call and letter will be sent to notify parents of class. For child car seat inspections, must call for an appointment at 419-774-4726. Seat checks provided by appointment only.

Description

Provides no-cost car seats through the Ohio Department of Health's "Ohio Buckles Buckeyes" program. Has convertible seats for ages 6 months up to 5 years old, and booster seats for ages 5 to 8 years old. NO INFANT CAR SEATS. Provides inspections of child car seats for recall, proper fit for the child and proper installation in the car.
