Ages 18-23, who have aged out of foster care, either in Cuyahoga County custody or who were placed in Cuyahoga County during their foster care years. Help is available after termination of county custody. Must have completed their high school diploma or GED. Applicants must be full-time students in a college, university, or approved vocational or technical program. Youth must maintain a grade point average(GPA) of 2.0 to continue to receive funds. ETV Funds are for ages 18-26.
Social Security Number, date of birth, proof of enrollment in full-time program, proof of high school diploma or GED.
Available during semesters/trimesters when students are full-time. No funds for breaks or summers unless enrolled full-time.

Call any time to get an application and to set an appointment to begin process to apply. Applications need to be submitted at least 30 days prior to the start of instruction. Application process includes submitting a one-page essay about individual's educational goals and plans. If accepted in program, will be informed when funds are disbursed.

Description

Provides funds to individuals who have emancipated out, 18-23 years of age, to assist in successfully completing higher education. College Bound Funds awarded are up to $20/day or $620/month and can be used to pay for tuition in an approved educational program, supplies, books, or daily living expenses. Youth may also apply for additional funds for the Education Training Voucher (ETV) available through Foster Care to Success for up to $5,000 in an academic year.
