The Washington County Behavioral Health Board is the local authority for planning, monitoring, evaluating, and financing publicly funded treatment and prevention services for mental illness and alcohol and drug addiction in Washington County. The Behavioral Health Board studies the local community's needs for mental health and alcohol / drug addiction services, sets priorities and plans strategies for treatment and prevention. The Board does not provide these services directly, but contracts with agencies to provide services to Washington County citizens and employs an executive director and staff to carry out board policies.
