Model United Nations (model Un)/junior Model Un | Cleveland Council On World Affairs

Provides a tool for teaching students how to negotiate, think critically, and communicate persuasively around complex world political and economic issues by participating in an exercise similar to actual issue discussions conducted by the adult United Nations. Delegates learn about a diverse host of cultures and countries. Service includes workshops to review parliamentary procedures and research skills.

Application process

Pre-registration required through schools youth attend. Teachers organize groups, and registration starts at the beginning of the school year, usually in September. Individuals may also call for information on how to participate if their school is not organizing a team or to set up a workshop that teaches research/parliamentary skills. Hours to call M-F: 9:00am-5:00pm.

Fee

Fixed fee to participate; workshops have no fees.

Eligibility

Ages 14-18 (9th-12th grades). Junior Model UN serves youth aged 12-14 (grades 6-8). Serves schools in Ohio.
