Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) | Ohio District 5 Area Agency On Aging

Helps seniors who are 60+ and/or have disabilities fill out the Energy Assistance Application. With one application you can apply for HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program). HEAP is a federal program that provides a one-time discount on winter heating bills for low-income households. All heating types are eligible for assistance.

Provides a comprehensive, coordinated service system for older and disabled individuals in the nine county planning and service area ensuring availability of a variety of services in their communities to help them secure and maintain maximum independence and dignity in a home environment. Administers the Community Care Coordination Program, Family Caregiver Support Program, Housing/Home Repair Program, Information and Referral, Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program, Housing Directory for Seniors, Energy Assistance, HEMEN (Helping Elderly Meet Essential Needs), Training, Alzheimer's and Caregiver Respite, Assisted Living Program and PASSPORT Program. Case management of Ohio Homecare waiver individuals. Covers nine counties: Ashland, Crawford, Huron, Knox, Marion, Morrow, Richland, Seneca, and Wyandot.
