Verifies initial/ongoing professional qualifications in terms of basic professional education, continuing education, passing the appropriate credentialing examination, and ethical/criminal background information. Investigates consumer complaints of ethical/practice standard violations by counselors, social workers, and marriage and family Therapists. Sanctions offending professionals as appropriate; including possible loss of license. Maintains a data base of currently licensed counselors, social workers, and marriage and family therapists within the state of Ohio. Also approves continuing education providers who want to offer Continuing Education Units (CEU's) for license certification/recertification.
