Emergency Financial Assistance - Deployed Military And Post 9/11 Wounded Veterans | Operation Homefront

Provides critical financial assistance and other family support programs to the families of currently deployed service members and wounded post 9/11 veterans within 10 years of discharge. Critical financial assistance includes food assistance, rent and mortgage assistance, assistance with delinquent utility bills (gas, water, electric), home repairs, auto repairs, and essential baby items. Assistance is paid directly to the vendor or service provider and food assistance is sent in the form of a gift card.

Hours

Online application is available on the 1st through 10th of every month online. Critical Financial Assistance department staff are available M-F from 9:00am - 6:00pm with voicemail capability outside of regular office hours.

Eligibility

Serves Active duty and those who actively served in the United States military post 9/11/2001 AND suffered a post 9/11 wound, illness, or injury in the line of duty. MUST BE WITHIN TEN YEARS OF DISCHARGE. If discharged, must have Honorable or General discharge (Under Honorable Conditions) WITHIN TEN years of discharge. Also serves deployed service members of rank E-1-E-6 with DEERS-eligible/legal dependents AND who meet one of the following criteria: 1. Currently deployed to an overseas location 2. Assigned to a ship that has been at sea for 30+ days and is enroute to theater, forward deployed, or otherwise on a mission status - not a training status 3. National Guard member or Reservist on Title 10 orders (not Title 32) who either will deploy to an overseas theater in the next 90 days, or has returned from an overseas HFR theater within the last 180 days.
