Unclaimed funds are assets such as uncashed checks, inactive savings accounts, leftover proceeds that may be due a property owner who has lost their property due to foreclosure with a subsequent sheriff sale for more than the balance due on the mortgage, and insurance benefits that have existed in accounts or deposits.
