Employment Assistance For Displaced / Laid Off Workers | Ohio Means Jobs - Cleveland - Cuyahoga County

Adults 18 and older who are residents of the State of Ohio and are a displaced worker or homemaker. DISPLACED WORKERS: must have been laid off from their jobs. Must apply for unemployment benefits before applying for this program, but may apply for them before actually receiving unemployment. However, if you are denied for unemployment benefits, then you will not be accepted in this program. DISPLACED HOMEMAKERS: Must have been providing unpaid homemaking services for family members and are no longer being supported financially by a family member. Must also be unemployed or underemployed and having difficulty in obtaining employment.
For orientation will need: Driver's license OR State I.D. (Ohio) Resume or current job history Social Security Card Proof of Citizenship and Date/Place of Birth: Birth Certificate, Unexpired Passport, Resident Alien Card, ISS1or l151 Form, or Naturalization papers Selective Service Enrollment Card or Verifications (for males born after December 31, 1959). Laid off workers may also need: letter of lay off printed on company letterhead last three pay stubs unemployment benefits, notification of benefit rights letter and determination of benefits letter. Displaced homemakers may also need: proof of income for last six months for self and spouse proof of family size parole release papers (if applicable) and one of the following: divorce papers separation papers spouse's death certificate spouse's letter of lay off and unemployment benefits notification of benefit rights letter determination of benefits letter last three paycheck stubs from part-time employment will be advised of any other needed documents.
