Eligibility
Meet the following criteria:
  • Be a youth age 16 to 24.
  • Volunteering to enroll into the program.
  • Meet the low-income Federal Poverty Guideline Level guidelines. Call for details.
  • Committed to the completion of the Job Corps program. Average stay is 8 to 16 months.
  • Must be drug-free.
  • Must wear a minimum of business casual attire (no jeans or sneakers).
Persons who are not eligible:
  • Use drugs illegally under federal law.
  • Exhibit behavioral problems that could prevent success in Job Corps.
  • Have certain criminal convictions or require court supervision.

Call the Job Corps program for more information. Note: If a minor, legal guardian must be present for an interview.
Fees
Offers no cost for room, meals, books, and tuition. Covers routine medical and dental care while participants train.

Offers a government-subsidized youth training program that provides remedial education, vocational training, and useful work experience including on-the-job training for low and moderate-income, disadvantaged youth who have poor job skills. Provides vocational training in healthcare, construction, office administration, and so forth. Note: Job Corps is an on-site partner of the Ohio Means Job Center.
