Before enrolling, must have or open a bank, credit union, or electronic transfer account (ETA) that will accept these funds. For those persons who do not have or may not be able to obtain a bank account, will provide information about where to obtain a low-cost ETA. TO ENROLL: For any type of federal benefits payments may enroll by mail or through the agency issuing the benefits. May also register by phone for Social security, railroad retirement, and Office of Personnel Management payments only. Phone for information or to enroll M-F: 9:00am-7:00pm. May also enroll through the Web site anytime.

Deposits federal benefit payments such as Social Security, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), veterans benefits, and railroad retirement benefits directly into the recipient's bank account, credit union account, or electronic transfer account. Money is deposited into the account on the designated payment day. Protects individuals from having their benefits checks lost or stolen.
