Job Placement & Retention Services | Vocational Guidance Services

Provides job leads, interviewing techniques, assistance with completing applications, guidance in making job choices and planning job strategies, as well asaccess to an employment resource center with computers, telephones and equipment to help with job searching. Once employment has been obtained, participants will review job retention strategies. Follow-up support and continued on-the-job assistance and support is provided as needed.

Application process

Phone for information. A referral is not required in order to walk in for a tour of the facility and an overview of the program during the above hours. Service by referral is suggested, in order to cover fees. Such referrals are often made through agencies including County Boards of Developmental Disabilities, Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities or Vocational Rehabilitation Public & Private Partnership - VRP3), Bureau of Worker's Compensation/Managed Care Organizations - BWC/MCO, Veterans Administration - VA, and other referral/funding agencies. The agency may be able to coordinate any additional services an individual may need (work attire, tools, for example) at the time of referral.

Eligibility

Aged 18 and older, who have a disability (physical, mental or developmental) or who are economically disadvantaged or who have other barriers to employment such as a criminal background, homelessness, educationally disadvantaged and who are eligible for third-party funding. Individuals must be able to manage their basic living and care needs and be able to benefit from the program service. and residents of Cuyahoga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Summit, Ashtabula, Portage, Trumbull, Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca, Erie, Huron, Geauga, Franklin, Delaware, Fairfield, and Licking Counties.
