Application process
Return completed Petition for Involuntary Treatment to the County Attorney's office in person or by fax. At the time the form is returned, the applicant must have already scheduled appointments with two different Qualified Mental Health Professionals to evaluate the person with substance use concerns. At least one of these evaluators must be a licensed physician.
Fee
Varies. If treatment is ordered by the court, the applicant is responsible for obtaining treatment services, transporting the individual to the treatment facility, and paying for the treatment services.
Eligibility
A spouse, relative, friend, or guardian of a person with substance use (drug or alcohol) concerns may file a petition with the County Attorney.
