Review list of participating private schools either by downloading the list from the web site or calling the department and asking for help navigating the list of approved schools. Families choose a school and apply first to the school. Once accepted at the chosen participating school, application for aid is through the school. Application period begins February 1 and runs through May 31. Families will be notified in July if children have been awarded funds for school.
Parents may be responsible for tuition exceeding the maximum scholarship amount ($4,250 grades K-8; $5,000 grades 9-12. Parents are also responsible for books, uniforms, after-school care, etc.

Description
Provides vouchers to be used by eligible children to attend participating non-public schools located within the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD). A list of participating schools is available from the department. The number of vouchers available in an academic year depends on the state budget. Maximum voucher amounts may or may not cover the entire tuition at a particular school.
