Eligibility
*Must be AEP customer *Electric service has been disconnected or is in threat of termination *Income Based: less than 300% of the federal poverty level guidelines *Have an outstanding balance of at least $50 and are at least 30 days behind *Have paid at least $75 on their AEP Ohio account in the three months prior to applying

*Photo ID *Most recent utility bill *Proof of income OR COVID-19 financial hardship including an unemployment filing notice or proof of unemployment benefits

Provides eligible customers with a utility assistance grant applied directly to their AEP bill. Grants are dispersed on a first come, first serve basis to eligible applicants while funding is available. If a customer's utility service is off or in threat of termination when they apply and the maximum grant amount will not restore service or stop termination, the application will be denied. *Community Action is a participating community agency that can help with applications
