Applications may be picked up and dropped off (in drop-box) at nearest Job and Family Services Office (AKA: Neighborhood Family Service Centers) M-F: 9:00am-4:00pm. Applications are available on website and can then be emailed or faxed to the agency. Emailed applications should be sent as an attachment. LIBRARIES: Staff at Cuyahoga County Public Library, Cleveland Public Library, or Shaker Heights Public Library branches can help with applying for this service online, by phone, and by fax (free faxing available). May also call the PRC Hotline to request an application by mail, to check the status of an application, or with questions about the application process (applications can't be done over the phone, the hotline can only answer questions that the applicant may have about the application) M-F: 8:30am-4:30pm (if no answer, leave a voice mail and the call will be returned within one to two business days). Once all required verifications are received from the applicant, the PRC application should be approved or denied as quickly as possible, but no later than 10 calendar days (but in some cases, this may take up to 30 days). Notification is given in person or sent by mail within two (2) business days of the application decision. Once approved, client will pick up their voucher at the Virgil Brown Neighborhood Family Service Center. Client must sign their portion of the voucher and then give the voucher to the property owner to complete their portion. Once the voucher is signed by both parties it is then returned to Virgil E Brown Center with the property owner's W-9 form. Only the original voucher will be accepted. It is recommended that those applying for this program also contact the Red Cross for case management services.

Description
Provides aid to families in the form of a voucher to buy items or pay for emergency services related to establishing a household after the family has suffered a disaster. MAY BE USED FOR: rent payment and/or security deposit ($750 maximum), stoves and refrigerators (maximum $200); baby furniture; children's beds/mattresses (maximum $250), and children's clothing (up to $150 per child); replacement of adult clothing due to fire or flood (up to $225); general furniture (couch, table, etc. - up to $400). MAY NOT BE USED FOR: entertainment furniture (such as a TV or a radio), washers or dryers (unless it is essential for an applicant's employment or needed due to a disability), mortgage payments. YEARLY CASH LIMITS: $1,500 total during the calendar year (may be $750 for certain non-custodial parents).
